What we collect
- About a business we might make a site for: what it has made public, such as its website, public listings, published photos and press, short quotes from public reviews (never the reviewer's name), and the email address published on its website or listing.
- If you reply: your emails and anything you send, such as photos or changes.
- If you become a customer: your name, email address and billing details. Payments are taken by Stripe, and we never see your full card number.
Why
- To offer a business a website it may want (legitimate interests).
- To run the site you've signed up for and bill for it (contract).
- To keep accounting records (legal obligation).
Who else handles it
Google (email), Cloudflare (hosting), Stripe (payments), GitHub (storing site files), and the AI services from Anthropic and Google that help with research, building and email. Each handles data on our behalf. Some of them process it outside the UK under standard safeguards.
How long we keep it
- If you say no: the preview comes down, and we keep a note of your email address so you're never contacted again. Ask, and we'll delete everything else about your business.
- Customers: for as long as you're a customer, and billing records for as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to our using it, by emailing us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
